Monika Bochert is an Emerging Technology Research Analyst at the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Public Safety Communications Research Division (NIST PSCR) within the Communications Technology Laboratory. In this role, she focuses on the usability of technology tools for first responders under the User Interface/User Experience portfolio, as well as the use of lidar for public safety indoor mapping under the Location-Based Services portfolio. She also manages other program initiatives such as the coordination of annual summit technology demonstrations and developing other processes to support innovation for first responders. Monika joined NIST PSCR in 2023 and has a background in Program Management and federal funding opportunities. Monika holds a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in social studies education and german language and served in Peace Corps Mongolia from 2017 to 2019.
