L. V. Pokey Harris has been employed within the emergency services realm of public safety for nearly 30 years. Pokey has extensive knowledge and experience in 911, public safety communications, emergency management, and local government/private sector management. As the Executive Director of the North Carolina 911 Board, she serves as its chief administrative officer tasked with the responsibility of administering the affairs and business of this policy-making Board, including the nationally recognized deployment of the statewide ESInet.
Ms. Harris has a master’s degree in public administration with a concentration in Emergency Management from Jacksonville State University. She is a member of the National Emergency Number Association (NENA), and Association of Public Safety Communications Officers (APCO).
