Kyle Green serves as the Fire Marshal for the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) campus. Since 2005, he has been serving the interior of Alaska in public safety as a firefighter, emergency medical technician (EMT), and now as a fire marshal for the past 13 years. Kyle is part of a team who is ensuring campus residents, researchers, staff and faculty, and thousands of visitors every year are safe and secure in hundreds of campus facilities. As one of the 13 career staff members of the University Fire Department (UFD), Kyle also assists with the department’s leadership of over 40 student firefighters who are obtaining their advanced degrees while serving and responding to emergencies in the Fairbanks community. His additional involvement with UFD’s early adoption of FirstNet, and as a Municipalities North Representative on the Alaska Land Mobile Radio User Council, helps UFD stay on the forefront of communications technologies. In his free time, Kyle can often be found somewhere in the Alaska wilderness hiking, camping, and fishing with his family if he’s not otherwise helping out with his sons’ Cub Scout Pack and their family outings.
