Andrew Amalfitano

Andrew (Andy) Amalfitano is a seasoned emergency services leader with experience in search and rescue (SAR), wildland fire response, emergency medical services (EMS), and crisis management. In addition to being President-Chief of the Boulder Emergency Squad – leading rescue operations, field training, and volunteer search and rescue (SAR) team development – Andy is a FEMA Level I Continuity Practitioner and DRII Associate Business Continuity Professional with specialized SAR training. With expertise that spans diving, swiftwater, technical rescue, and search management, he has played key roles in incident management teams in major disaster response including wildland fires and floods. With a strong background in business continuity and organizational resilience, Andy leverages his leadership to strengthen first responder capabilities and disaster preparedness, combining technical expertise and hands-on leadership to enhance emergency response and preparedness. He holds degrees in physics, education, and business continuity management.
