Session Type: Tech Demo

  • Z-Axis Location Tracking of First Responders in 3D Contextual Visualization

NextNav will be demonstrating Z-axis service, which delivers floor level accuracy of 9-1-1 callers and first responders. During the demonstration, attendees will observe the 3D location of first responder devices on a 3D map. Attendees will observe the NextNav team moving around the building, including on stairs, escalators, and elevators.

  • Delivering interoperable communications through 3GPP MCX Interworking Function

Attendees will see a demonstration of a mission-critical service (MCX) solution combining a 3GPP compliant interworking function showcasing inter-RF subsystem interface (ISSI), console subsystem interface (CSSI), and digital fixed station interference (DFSI) connectivity with an APCO P25 radio system and dispatch console solution showing complete interoperability with Mission-Critical push-to-talk. This will highlight the ability to […]

  • Use of Ray Tracing to Model Ultra Wideband (UWB) Ranging

This demonstration highlights a method based on ray tracing to model the ranging error of ultra-wideband (UWB) radios. Ray tracing requires the floor plans of the building and the electromagnetic properties of the construction materials used. This simulation results exhibit a good match with actually deploying two commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) UWB nodes in a building and […]

  • UI/UX XR Research Demonstrations

Join the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) Public Safety Communications Research (PSCR) Division’s extended reality (XR) team at the user interface (UI)/user experience (UX) demonstration table to see a number of different demonstrations on display. The demo will showcase an Augmented Reality Tracking Visualization prototype, which resulted from a collaboration between the UI/UX […]

  • Downdetector, Speedtest and RootMetrics by Ookla

This demonstration will highlight Ookla’s network coverage solutions. These solutions allow the public safety community to quickly and easily access reliable and up-to-date information on the state of wireless and fixed network performance and coverage. Public safety personnel can quickly understand network coverage and make necessary preparations ahead of any mission, anywhere in the world.

  • Softil’s Solution for Live MCX Interoperability

This demonstration shows interoperability between currently deployed mission critical push-to-talk (MCPTT) products developed by a number of Softil partners using the Softil BEEHD mission critical services (MCX) software development kit. All devices in the demonstration are connected to the live MCX network via Long-Term Evolution and additional wireline/wireless interfaces.

  • Smart Communities, Smart Responders: An AI for IoT Prize Competition

The rapid deployment of 5G infrastructure, Internet of Things (IoT) devices, smart buildings, transportation, and public safety data streams benefit communities across the country. However, these technologies have created a flood of data and made it difficult for public safety leaders and individual first responders to use them. The Smart Communities, Smart Responders: An Artificial […]

  • See FRAME in Action: From Earthquake Chaos to Informed Rescue Operations

FRAME (First Responder Awareness Monitoring during Emergencies), developed in the AI3 Prize Competition, empowers first responders with critical situational awareness during emergencies. It leverages the power of Internet of Things (IoT) sensors and machine learning to transform raw data into actionable insights. This demo simulates a real-world scenario where first responders leverage FRAME in an […]

  • Secure Broadband Push-to-Talk (PTT) with Comprehensive Interoperability Options

This demonstration will show cross carrier interoperability and native inter-agency communications, critical to mutual aid scenarios. Technology in the demonstration includes broadband push-to-talk (PTT) operating on commercial smartphones and tablets (iOS and Android) and Internet of Things (IoT) radio devices (Tait AXIOM and Siyata SD7). It will also include a demonstration of land mobile radio […]

  • SearchAR: Cognition-tuned augmented reality wayfinding system

This demonstration will highlight SearchAR, an innovative augmented reality wayfinding system, with a suite of interactive features. Interactive mini-maps rovide users with real-time navigational maps. Landmarks and directional signage enables easy identification and following of key locations and directions. Hazard marking: alert users to potential dangers in their immediate environment. The WHISKER system is a […]
