Mark Durr serves as Section Chief for FEMA Region 5 inside the Response Operations Group™ in the FirstNet Program at AT&T . He is responsible for the tactical lead for all requests from public safety for FirstNet coverage needs within FEMA Region 5. He directs all activities toward identifying and implementing the appropriate solution(s) to meet customer requirements for both planned and emergent events. Mark is a specialist in deployable Long-Term Evolution communications equipment and technology and is adept at responding with and employing a wide variety of solutions.
Mark began his public service career in 1987 with the Illinois National Guard. In 1989, Mark decided to enlist to full active duty serving in U.S. Army. After 13 years of active duty, Mark joined Ameritech which became Southwestern Bell Corp and finally AT&T and served eighteen years holding several positions in sales, customer relations, and sales operations.
His education consists of a Bachelor of Science with a minor in psychology. United States Army Ranger School, Airborne School, Jungle Expert School, Air Assault School, and Jumpmaster School. He was recognized as the honor graduate in both non-commissioned officer leadership courses. Mark served in combat, participated in the Gulf War, Operation Desert Shield/Storm, and removal of Manual Noriega invasion.
