Yaw Ready for This? UAS 3D Mapping Innovation through Research and Prize Challenges

Come see firsthand the winning solutions from the latest prize challenge from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Public Safety Communications Research (PSCR) Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) portfolio. Our current First Responder UAS 3D Mapping Challenge (UAS 5.0). Teams were tasked with developing a high-quality 3D digital map in real-time while flying their drone through a live scenario. Last year, you saw the winning solutions in our First Responder UAS Indoor Challenge (UAS 4.0), but a lot has happened since then. You’ll hear from the UAS 5.0 winners and see their UAS designs and flight videos. The NIST PSCR UAS team will also describe some of the research and commercialization efforts and tell you about the recently launched UAS 6.0 challenge.
