Use of Ray Tracing to Model Ultra Wideband (UWB) Ranging

This demonstration highlights a method based on ray tracing to model the ranging error of ultra-wideband (UWB) radios. Ray tracing requires the floor plans of the building and the electromagnetic properties of the construction materials used. This simulation results exhibit a good match with actually deploying two commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) UWB nodes in a building and obtaining a range estimate from the devices.
