Automatic Diagnosis of Video Quality Problems in Networked Camera Systems

Imperial Ballroom

In a networked camera system, multiple factors could cause the degradation of video quality, such as noise or motion blur during video capturing, not enough resolution, too much compression, and bad network conditions. To improve the experience of camera system users and operators, the team has developed a video quality assessment software prototype that can automatically detect video quality degradation scenarios and provide feedback to public safety technical support personnel on the cause of the quality degradation. This demonstration will highlight the capabilities of this prototype using video clips generated from a practical enterprise-level camera system.
