Lidar Scans for Public Safety

At this demo table, conference attendees will have the opportunity to use a mobile lidar scanning system to create point clouds of areas within the conference center. Staff from the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Public Safety Communications Research (PSCR) Division will be on hand to talk about how point clouds are being used in projects to support public safety indoor mapping, localization, and navigation and how software tools are now available for incorporating point clouds into artificial intelligence/machine learning systems.
