D2D and V2X Communications for Mission Critical Public Safety Applications

Our agenda will explore the evolution of device-to-device (D2D) communications in bolstering support for first responders. Solutions range from Sidelink communication for improved coverage, to single-hop relay, to the upcoming multi-hop relay, to the advancements in vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication. Our goal is to share findings from our research and gain insights into stakeholder interests in D2D research opportunities and mission-critical communication applications. Through this collaboration, we will shape future planning by brainstorming new D2D communication functionalities that can have a significant operational effect on public safety.
