This session brings together researchers from Iowa State and Carnegie Mellon University to report on their work for augmented reality user interfaces for public safety. Iowa State is testing modular AR libraries for different interactions and visualizations that can be adopted by researchers and developers alike. Carnegie Mellon University has created a number of XR trainings and applications for use by Fire and EMS through their project Extended Reality (XR) Telemetry Interface for Real-Time Operation and Training. They will be sharing their latest developments and showcasing an AR interface that combines lidar, RGB, and thermal camera technologies.
