Kevin Fetterman is a division chief with the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) where he oversees the Command and Emergency Planning Division of the largest fire agency in Orange County, covering nearly two million residents across 78 fire stations. In addition to this role, Chief Fetterman is responsible for operationalizing emerging technology, serving as a liaison to the Information Technology Division, and leading an Emergency Command Center (ECC) that fields more than 500 9-1-1 calls every day. Chief Fetterman began his fire service career in 1996 and has continuously risen in the ranks and expanded the impact of his service and leadership — from firefighter/paramedic, engineer, captain, and battalion chief to HazMat program manager, ECC duty officer, and urban search and rescue program manager of California Task Force 5. A seasoned leader with a passion for incident management, Chief Fetterman is a National Wildfire Coordinating Group/California Incident Command Certification System-qualified plans section chief (Type 1), strike team leader, division supervisor, and is currently serving as the incident commander for Orange County All-Hazard Incident Management Team #1. He is the plans section chief on the FEMA Urban Search and Rescue Blue Incident Support Team and has provided life- and community-saving work and leadership on various local, state, and federal disasters, including the Oso Mudslide in Washington, the 2013 Colorado floods, the Surfside condominium collapse in Florida, and numerous hurricanes.
