Matt Whitlock is an Extended Reality (XR) researcher within the User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) portfolio of the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) Public Safety Communications Research Division. In this role, Matt supports internal research efforts toward effective XR integration for public safety use cases. Prior to joining NIST, Matt earned his Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Colorado Boulder where his research focused on the intersection of data visualization and XR technology. Matt has a bachelor’s in computer science from the University of Alabama.
